The 2024/25 Gulf ProCar Season Review
The Gulf ProCar 2024/25 Championship and Enduro Cup Season has now concluded, bringing an end to another fantastic year of racing.
Multiple developments of the series were put into place for this year, with the on-track competition bearing the fruits of these changes. Under the management of GulfSport Racing, the 2024/25 season was a milestone year for the Gulf ProCar Series in many ways.
Firstly, the introduction of the Gulf ProCar Enduro Cup added a new flavour to national racing in the UAE. Comprised of five events, long format racing featured between 60 minute and 120 minute races throughout the Enduro Cup. The first four events of the Enduro Cup took place on selected Sundays following championship rounds, whilst the final event - Enduro 5 - was a standalone event running on the same weekend as the Gulf Radical Cup Superprix. At Enduro 5, Karim Nadir Zuhour was crowned 2024/25 Gulf ProCar Enduro Cup Overall Champion, sharing the drive with Mohammed Al Owais for this final event. Congratulations to Karim and his team!
Class 86 was introduced ahead of the season, a classification exclusive to Toyota GT86 cars which had previously run within Class 4. Six drivers competed in Class 86 across the season, and it was this class that delivered the closest competition, with championship honours decided in the very last race at the final round of the championship.
Class 2Cup was another new classification in the Gulf ProCar season, brought in slightly later than Class 86 due to the boom in popularity of Porsche Cup machinery in Gulf ProCar. More-so a sub-category, Class 2Cup marks the first phase of refinement for the traditional Class 2 category which housed all Cup, Challenge and Trophy cars collectively, creating Class 2Cup for Porsche Cup cars exclusively. Sixteen drivers competed in Class 2Cup across the 2024/25 season, fourteen of these in Porsche 992 Cup spec and two in Porsche 991.2 Cup spec; a Gulf ProCar record of the highest number of drivers participating in a single class across a season.
Overall, a total of 46 drivers competed in Gulf ProCar this season, between the Championship and Enduro Cup Series. These numbers clearly display the consistent growth that the Gulf ProCar series is undergoing and we look forward to bettering this number next year.
Now, as we reflect on another thrilling year of the Gulf ProCar Series, the class honours are as follows:
Championship Series
Class 86
Nadim Haddad - Class 86 and Overall Champion
In Class 86, it was Nadim Haddad who topped the points standings as the chequered flag flew at Round 7, making it 7 wins from the 10 races that he competed in during the season. With the highest points tally of all drivers in the series, Nadim was also crowned Gulf ProCar Overall Champion. Avik Anwar pushed Nadim right to the end, with the two drivers delivering plenty of excitement with intense, yet respectful, on-track battles. Naif Alshawaf rounded up the top three points positions in Class 86, keeping in close contention with Nadim and Avik in his debut year of competitive racing.
Class 1
Vasily Vladykin - Class 1 Champion
Vasily Vladykin clinched the Class 1 championship title in 2024/25, followed by Jim Geddie in second place, and Andrey Solukovtsev in third. Although the GT3 cars and drivers were not able to complete a full season - due to other motorsport commitments in Europe - an exciting fight amongst them was delivered. From the get-go, Vasily put himself in prime position with a pair of race wins at Round 1, enough to hold off the challenge from Jim and Andrey, leading the championship from this point onwards.
Class 2
Masoud Jaberian - Class 2 Champion
Class 2 Champion was Masoud Jaberian, with an utterly dominant return to the Gulf ProCar Series. Masoud took four out of four wins in the events that he contested season, allowing him to create a clear buffer to Ryan James in second place and Fouad Al Ghanim in third place. Ryan and Fouad claimed strong points results during the season, but this was not enough to challenge Masoud at the top of the standings.
Class 2Cup
Alex G - Class 2Cup Champion
The inaugural Class 2Cup Champion was Alex G. Despite a fiercely competitive grid of Porsche 992 Cup cars, it was Alex who rose to the top with six race wins from a possible fourteen. Rawad Sarieddine took the fight to Alex but settled for second place whilst his teammate, Shawki El Armali, completed the top three. For Alex, Rawad and Shawki, this was their debut season of car racing and to finishing with these accolades is a credit to their hard work throughout the year.
Class 3
David Frederick von Rosen - Class 3 Champion
Despite being the sole competitor to enter Class 3 during the season, David Frederick von Rosen certainly stated his ground by taking the fight to the Porsche Cup machinery at Rounds 3 and 5. David is your Class 3 Champion for 2024/25.
Class 4
Krishna Reddy - Class 4 Champion
This year, Krishna Reddy took a big step forward in his driving this year, displaying greater pace and consistency through the year. Krishna claimed the Class 4 Championship ahead of close competitor Daniel Jones in second and Karim Nadir Zuhour in third. Daniel and Karim challenged Krishna, but were unable to overhaul his position in the points standings as the season elapsed.
Class 5
Jonathan Cole / James Bourke - Class 5 Champions
Jonathan Cole and James Bourke shared driving duties of their Honda DC5 K24, clinching the Class 5 championship after contesting in three rounds of the 2024/25 season. Plenty of development went into their car prior to and during the season, as they worked to refine the final package, meaning that they were forced to miss a handful of rounds to focus on this.
Class RC
Marcel Kiefer - Class RC Champion
Double points awards at Round 7 made all the difference for the championship standings in Class RC; Marcel Kiefer came out on top with his success at the final round, edging out Alex Klebanov in second place and James Greenwood in third. Marcel, Alex and James all led the championship at various points during the season with race wins to each of their names, making for an exciting and close end to the campaign in Class RC.
Enduro Cup
Karim Nadir Zuhour - Overall Champion
Karim Nadir Zuhour took full advantage of the double points opportunity at Enduro 5, claiming maximum points to sky rocket him up the points standings to clinch the Enduro Cup Overall Championship. This strong points haul narrowly moved him ahead of Andrea Girondi in second place and Alex G in third, despite their dominance earlier in the Enduro Cup Season.
A huge thank you to all teams and drivers for your support and commitment this year, resulting in another unforgettable season of racing. We look forward to seeing you next season for Gulf ProCar 2025/26.
